Notti Malatestiane. Cycle of historical conferences at the castle of Montefiore Conca Rn
Malatesta Rocca
When evening falls and the lights illuminate the ancient walls of Montefiore Conca Castle, history returns to speak. This is how the Notti Malatestiane (Malatestian Nights) were born, a cycle of meetings that, from Saturday 2 May to Saturday 13 June, will accompany the public every Saturday at 9 p.m. on a fascinating journey through history.
The programme interweaves history, literature, and art thanks to leading speakers. It will begin with the presentation of the book dedicated to Ginevra d'Este by Roberta Iotti, followed by a talk by architect. Carla Costa on the architecture of Leon Battista Alberti between Este and Malatesta.
The cycle will continue with tales and fascinating events: the tragic story of Parisina Malatesta in the poetry of Lord Byron narrated by Prof. Paolo Rambelli, the conflicts and power in the Malatesta Seignory with Dr. Andrea Antonioli, the female figures in the Divine Comedy narrated by Prof. Carlotta Bendi and the great transformations of war between the 15th and 16th centuries with Dr. Andrea Santangelo. There will also be a look at one of the dynasty's most famous figures, Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta, amid symbols, power, mystery and absolute novelties masterfully presented by Prof. Andrea Vitali.
Closing the cycle, chef Alessia Uccellini, architect and face of the Rai 3 TV programme Geo&Geo, will guide the audience on a journey through historical cuisine where history will also become a sensory experience, with tastings inspired by recipes from the past.
A different and engaging way to experience history, right in the places where it was written.
The initiative is a project of the Compagnia di Ricerca association.
